Helga Hislop
Born in London in 1941, HelgaÕs Estonian mother is an artist and her English father an author. She was trained at the Cardiff College of Art and the Central School of Art and Design, London. After a successful career as a graphic designer, she became a botanical illustrator specialising in wild flowers and fruits and her work has been widely published.
Her first exhibition in 1978 was at Dorking Hall, Surrey and she has exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London, The Royal Horticultural Society, London, The Linnean Society, London, and The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh, USA. In 1986 she became a founding member of The Society of Botanical Artists. She is an International Associate of the American Society of Botanical Artists and her work is in the Shirley Sherwood Collection which was exhibited in 1996 at Kew Gardens, London, The Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh and the National Arts Club, New York.
